Unveiling the Emotional Journey Behind "Lengua" by Bunny Alien Girl

"Whenever I sit down to write down a song, I always put every emotion into it.  When writing ‘Lengua’, I was thinking about how we see the world inside-out when we grow up. The things children don’t understand. With that, I was faced with many traumatic moments as a child.  I lost my mother at 9 years old and my grandmother became my caretaker, which later led to abuse.  I was treated differently from the rest of my family, which was my first experience in feeling like a black sheep.  Religion was always forced in my family, and was used as a crutch to not feel so bad about what was going on behind closed doors. I respect everyone in whatever they believe in, I just want to live a life that aligns with my ideals.  It was a very emotional process writing this one, but I thought of it as completing the steps I needed for closure from my past.  This song is the place where I let it all out, and I’m still loving myself through it all." -Bunny Alien Girl
